Fundraisers
Box Tops for Education – General Mills has marked the tops of some cereal boxes, snacks and frozen items with a small “coupon”, which indicates a monetary amount (e.g., 10 cents). Please clip these and bring them to school. We have a container outside the front office. The school receives a small check in exchange for the box tops.
Annual auction – this is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Each fall we have an auction, both silent and live, along with a potluck. Families are asked to consider providing a dish to share, donating items to be auctioned, and/or bidding on some of the donated treasures to benefit Cowles. This is also a very fun social event!
Scholastic book fair – at least once a year (sometimes twice a year) our hallways are filled with great books to purchase. This is a good way to encourage your children to read, and it helps raise money for the school at the same time.
Des Moines Arts Festival – For a new summer fundraiser we host one of the beer and wine sales tents at the Des Moines Arts Festival. This is a very fun opportunity to earn money for the arts programs at Cowles just by volunteering for a few hours!
